MSEDA Grants for 2019

We had many people apply for the following grants. Please come up when your name is called and take a picture with board member Julie Congleton.

The Christine Brown Grant was created in her memory. She left a permanent imprint on many people’s lives, and was generous to all, no matter if they were 2 or 4 legged. Applicants were required to be current members, to write an essay on how the grant will be used, including what they hope to achieve and how they will give back to MSEDA. This year’s recipient is: Jeri Fuller-Matheny

The MSEDA Educational Grant is given to help members further their equine education by providing financial assistance. Applicants must be current members and write an essay on what kind of education they seek, and how they will give back to MSEDA. This year’s recipients are: Amelia Jean Foster and Nora Brown.

A Junior Grant has been established by MSEDA in order to further the equine education of our younger members. We believe that by providing additional opportunities for the young riders in our association, Area 8 and Region 2 will continue to be competitive on a local, regional, and national level for many years to come. This year’s recipient is: Sophie Coorssen.

A new award was introduced last year, thanks to the friends of Jenn O’Neill. The That’ll Do Grant was created in memory of Jenn’s well known, well loved eventing partner. This grant was created to help a rider and their OTTB achieve their goals and dreams for a future at the upper levels of eventing. Last year’s inaugural winner was Lauren Rominelli. This year’s winner is: Megan Corbett.
